About the artist
Hi! I’m Maz and I am the artist behind Maz and Belle Designs.
I have been an artist my whole life and have been dreaming of sharing my work with the world for just as long!
I grew up in Kent with my Mum, Dad and little sister Elle (who is the Belle I named my business after). I moved to Gloucestershire when I was 18 for university and achieved a BA Hons degree in Illustration from the University of Gloucestershire.
I am a botanical artist predominantly but I also love to paint animals and birds. I use a range of mediums, namely acrylic, watercolour and gouache paints and sometimes watercolour pencils and alcohol markers. Take a wander through my Gallery to see my work!

As an artist, and more importantly as an animal and nature lover, it is incredibly important to me that I make my practice as eco-friendly as possible. I do this in many ways, including using found items to create my art (such as cereal boxes to thicken up my handmade bookmarks) and using plastic free and recycled supplies to pack up and ship your beautiful artworks to you.
In this current climate, I am trying to find ways to be even more eco-friendly and help as much as I can, and this is why I partnered with ONETREEPLANTED at the end of 2023. Now every time I receive an order I donate a tree! And for clients who order original paintings, personalised or otherwise, I donate 5 trees in their name and they get to choose where in the world those trees are planted!
As my business grows, I intend to partner with more organisations such as this so that I and all of my wonderful clients can do a little more to clean up and protect our beautiful world together.
